Im very impressed (and Im a long time PEAVEY devotee bought my first bass in '87 had my first peavey amp in '80) ......
The hardware is VERY GOOD for product at this price level stop bar weights more than the ones on my Gibsons
Tuners are usually (on the "nicer peaveys" Schaller).... pickups sound AWESOME set neck maple woods -- binding throughout nice headstock layout straighter string pull to the peg ....not as straight as PRS but not as "tweaked" as Gibson

vibrates good when you strum.... sustains well....
IT will do for the semi hollow "itch"

About time you started looking at a Godin.. Will..;) After all i did choose your Ambassador name....:D

Norm,

I have had several Godins but none have ever stuck. I think the only Godins I would be interested in right now are the Radium tele type and the Summit P90 LP Junior type.

I think I was about 20 when I ran my first PV warrantee repair center...
They were always very pleasant to the customers and extremely helpful.
They always supplied schematics and parts quickly, to get the customers back up and running in the field. They sold the parts for really low prices, they had support techs that we could call for help and always very knowledgeable.
They treated customers like VIPs.

They supplied free amps and PAs for a number of bands, including Bellamy Bros and Randy Bachman...whom I had the privileged of working with for a number of days in the studio.

Peavey was sort of the opposite of "Music Tribe."
They would do just about anything to make customers happy / to keep the gear up and running.
Sometimes they just sent the parts for free, and not just parts but entire power modules and circuit boards.

I think what happened is that Melia Peavey passed away...
and after that the customer service started collapsing in many respects.
They were forced to move production to China to stay in business....
Chinese companies copied their products...
And things are not the same as they used to be.
