The automagic welcome is an interesting add. It certainly provides a dedicated space that seems to require filling . I joined because of a search for Top Hat diodes for a JTM 45 build...not sure what they do, as I am considering a build I thought I'd poke around to learn a bit.
I've assembled 3 amps - with the intenston of learning how they work. My first build was an Allen Accomplice which was an easy build due to the excellent instructions but after building, plugging in and playing I realised that what I learned was that I could follow instructions really well...Next was a Mojotone 18 W clone and it taught me that the practical use of Ohms law...ahhh the voltage here should be x and it's low...maybe there a current flow problem... My third build of a 5E3 started with a Boothill board kit and I sourced the other components. I used a Chassis similar to the 18 W so I could use the same cabinet and laid out the components and machined the chassis accordingly - definitely getting more involved in the outcome, which included a cus$tom faceplate set. Next project is going to be a dumblized Champ built into a 1942 radio box....
