Here were the rules...

Play and record your own solo improvisation using chord tones along with one of the backing tracks provided below (F Blues—1 Chorus or F Blues—2 Choruses). Your solo should be a minimum of one chorus and demonstrate one of the following techniques:

• Play a chord tone motif. Develop your chord scale motif while maintaining the melodic contour (shape), but vary the rhythm of your motif. Use only chord tones in your development.
  
  
• Play a chord tone motif. Develop your chord tone motif while maintaining the rhythm, but vary the melodic contour (shape). Use only chord tones in your development.
  
  
• Play a chord tone solo. Demonstrate the use of direct resolution.
  
  
• Play a chord tone solo. Demonstrate the use of indirect resolution.
