Video Game Addiction...

I know many people are obsessed with their cell or smart phones but there is also another trend that kids and even some adults are addicted to and that is computer gaming. There are many who spend hours upon hours playing these addictive games either on their phones, tablets or computers in general. It's almost like a drug and it can have some serious effects on relationships and such. Here's a video showing how one kid is so totally into his gaming that he can't even have lunch or dinner with the parents without playing with his tablet. It's very sad if you ask me.

teenagers HA!
I have a 27 year old son that plays video games--- if he isnt working or sleeping -- he is online gaming------pisses me off -- 27--- no friends (well several but they are all online playing games at the same time) -- no girlfriend-- wife-- significant other----games -- work-- food-- beer--- games-- repeat-- worries the dickens outta me--

by 27 I had a wife a business --mortgage-- cars -- motorcycles-- vacations-- kids--- WTF!?!?!?! -- I cant figure millennials out-----

have FOUR OF THEM -- 2 are off being adults-- 2 are BACK HERE living off Dad..................I guess 50% success ratio? --- ugh---

The fault of video game "addiction" or even computer over-usage for that matter lies with the parents. It's their responsibility to put sensible limits on things and enforce those limits.
in theory --- and I did -- when he was a teenager---- HES A GROWN ASS MAN---- markedly LARGER than me -- (though edge and treachery still trumps youth and muscle) :)

I'm in serious trouble then. Parents have passed away and I'm a Dad with a 35 and 40 year old. Four grandkids. I have no one to enforce any limits. That said. About the only game I play on my phone is Solitaire. I cheat and use single draw. Play till I win. Could be one deal or 5 deals, but I quit after I win. Move on.

edit: Full disclosure. It's probably a good thing I don't have a Pinball Machine at home. I'd never be off that sucker. That would definitely be an addiction.

Letter rip eSGEe. I'm hearing you Brother!!!(y):)

My 10-yr-old twins are falling into this "game obsession," and Mrs. GM and I are considering getting QuoStudio to monitor and control their usage.
It's scary - We have trusted them their whole lives, and now, just these past few months, they sneak to get their laptops while we're asleep. :(

hide one under each of your pillows!

I have been known (in the past) to walk over to the fuse box and CUT THE POWER to my sons room when (he was playing games) after his bed time-- or well -- ANYTIME I wanted to as -- its MY POWER -- MY HOUSE--MY RULES--(that was when he was 12-13 etc.----
now-- meah-- its his life-- though..........just for old time sake...........I might go POP that breaker on a saturday night ---- just to hear him cuss ..........lol (man I woulda hated me for a dad!)

dont even know what those are ................

On U-Boat Simulator, you are in command of a German submarine during WW2 in the Pacific - (the real Monsoon Gruppe was there) - based in Penang.

I play it at 100% realism, making pen and paper calculations for torpedo firing solutions, battery life, C02/oxygen ratios, etc.

Germany's top U-Boat Ace sank about 250, 000 tons. My character is approaching 1,000,000 tons after 4 years of his campaign.

Coolest part is I was real-life chums with the last three living U-boat aces (Kretchsmer, Topp and Hardegen) and I gleaned a lot of tactics during our many conversations that I put to use in the simulation.
