Van down by the river

Hey all,

So some of you might know that right now I am in the process of moving into my RV. I have almost, almost finished getting the hell out of the house and into the trailer. I have to haul some stuff to the dump, and take all the burnables out to the burn pit on the farm, and then I have only one task left to do. I have this ol Chevy 20 van from '92 that I need to get out of here. I do have a car trailer and everything, but here's the problem: the wife lost the keys a long time ago. I can't pull it up on the trailer when the transmission is in park. How in the hell can I get this thing to roll? Isn't there a way to unlock the shifter without a key in the ignition? Anyone know?

Pics of the ol van (I am going to miss this thing. Some good memories in there):

And what the hell, pics of the RV just because. It'll be home for the next year or so. It's all loaded up, and I'll pull it down the road this weekend sometime.

Anyway, HOW do I get this van a'rollin' without keys?

I'm not really sure how effective that is....that won't really work, will it?

I'm actually hoping that there's an easy way to do this without having to take the whole steering column apart and everything, but whatever works, I guess. This van is a junker now and I'm going to be hauling it to a recycling yard eventually, so I am not too worried about dings and dents or whatever, but I have been busting ass trying to gtfo of here and frankly, I am looking to do this as effortlessly as possible lol

In other words, I want to be lazy

A lock smith can make a new key. Or, the dealer can probably make a key according to the VIN number.

just drag the thing -- your scrapping it ... "F" the tranny
Thought about that. No winch on the trailer. Will be using a come-along, probably...and I'd likely break it trying lol
I would disconnect the shift linkage at the transmission then turn it to neutral.
I mean, that could work for sure, but it's not the lazy way. I don't wanna wrench on it anymore than necessary if at all. It's just garbage at this point. I suppose I could take a Sawzall through the driveline lol.....but then there's no steering. Would be easy enough, had to replace it once, the one it currently has is fiberglass... Guess I better make sure that the trailer is nice and squared up before I try to roll it up there lol

True, but that costs money lol
Just ask BFT...

Well, ya see.....that's work.

I suppose I will probably have to go that route, but I was hoping to just find a way to turn the damned ignition switch somehow and pop er into neutral.

Oh well. It is what it is.....or was....or something like that

Cadorman has the same thing I was going to say pull the drive shaft.
Honestly that was my first thought as well....but I was thinking there may be a way to cheat my way outta doing that.

Or not, I mean, it's not hard to do, but I gotta get under there and get all dirty and everything. Oh well. That's probably the plan if nobody else has any ideas

I dunno, it's dark, it's hot as :poo: in this POS, and I don't feel much like dicking around with it right now. I'll give it a better look in the morning when it's light and still cool-ish outside. I'm not exactly sure where my tools are at the moment either..

Maybe if I put a big FREE sign on it, someone will drag it down by the river and live in it. But I don't think I'll be getting away with it that easily lol

Anyway, I know that there is something called a shift lock release switch/mechanism....I was just hoping one of yous might know where it is on this thing....but I'll figure it out. If not, I'll yank the driveline.

Ain't nothing gonna stop me at this point. I'm getting tf outta here.
