I post this thread due to the story of my musical journey. It is one that started with me having Piano lessons as a boy, trumpet in band from 4th grade to 9th grade, guitar after that and finally enough money to buy a few nice guitars, drums, basses etc.
How this relates is my interest in my 1972 Marshall 50 watt JMP Model 1987 50 watt lead Head made in the UK and subsequently having a connection in Germany before winding up here with me in Maryland USA about 20 years ago. As I was always curious what transpired with the amp in Germany etc before I got it, I tried finding info based on a sticker affixed to the back that was not factory installed. In doing a web search, I came up with a story written by a man I believe grew up near where the sticker has as an address so I located the article author and messaged him. He graciously replied and we have had a few correspondences since. What came of it all is he is also a musician, he is a number of years older than I as I believe he said he was 12 in the year I was born, and he has also posted some examples of his playing. While not getting a plethora of info about my amp, I get a somewhat clearer picture as to why the sticker is on the back. I would like to post the link to the aritcle that led me to the man from Germany and then also post my initial inquiry to the gentleman and his kind reply to my questions. Hope you guys enjoy and even feel free to add similar stories of your own.
Ok here is the link.
