Couple final things I thought about last night after posting. I feel that Barbarian Bob's controller,
@LiveeviL2000 deserves special commendation, though know even making the top 3 sized up his ego plenty enough. I know he was EXTREMELY helpful to at least one competitor throughout the game, probably more, and he had some great suggestions for me along the way. He never stopped beating his chest better than the rest with his frequent self-aggrandizing missives, and also stayed 100% in character/theme in an excellent way... I think he fully engaged with the spirit of the game earliest, and despite an extra workload he got his challenges done the fastest and probably earned the most "Peteys" of anyone. Crazy as it sounds, he told me he actually wrote lyrics for songs for a WHOLE concept album, because he misunderstood the challenge instructions a little bit.
So for that, please allow me to award Barbarian Bob, post-humously, the final Petey top Perpetual MultiWindmill Petey Award that never got awarded - can you imagine the sound of this A chord through his frickin' Hiwatts? OMG Metal to the CORE!!!!!
When
@LiveeviL2000 finally completes that record, I think we should all buy it on spotify.
Character development/theme is also something I saw
@Thatbastarddon also do supremely well with his Squatchin' theme at least inside the challenges... probably the best of the lot, I think.
Now there is potential for plenty butthurt in such an undertaking, with a bunch of testosterone-supplementing guitarists such as yourselves,
and I thank the majority for being understanding when there were errors I made, or some tough decisions, penalty/deadline enforcements etc.
As a Canuckinan, sitting here in my frigid ivory tower, I know the ref is always the easiest guy on the ice to hate!
I am currently developing some ideas for another game, one a fair bit different in that it will be a fair bit more music/writing focused, probably easier deadlines, and the ability to drop in, or drop out of, though it will be points-based, adding up to a targeted total. First to reach the magic number total to win. There will be no penalty for non-participants on any particular challenge, but even trying a little bit will be worth points. There will be less kooky "character" fantasy, more who YOU actually are as a musical person, which may suit others here better.
If anyone has any ideas for some particular song-writing based challenges, other than just songs or covers in a theme, fire them at me via PM!
But I don't think I will start until the cold winds start blowing in from the north. This one will definitely require basic DAW / multitrack skills probably, so you have time to get up and running with that
