Tracking Demos Today:

What's even better is letting us hear them!:D

OK!!!

Immigrant Song - Mission: Create Backing Track For Our Vocalist to Practice Too.

I have a tough time with the timing and feel on this song. Jimmy played it with a hybrid type of alternate picking. I found it sounded better when I abandoned that technique. This was recorded on my Gibson Les Paul direct into my Blackstar (Bass 3pm / Mids MAXED / Treble 4pm) with zero post-recording effects or mixdown. This Version Is All Down-picked with The Rhythm Guitars Double-Tracked and Panned 40%/80%

Immigrant Song For Jim 3

For those who dig the behind the scenes stuff, here's my isolated guitar tracks for today's recording of 'Immigrant Song.'

Down-picking was the key in order to get the emphasis on the 'd' string phrase. I could not get this right trying to cop Page's alternate picking technique.

You sure dig you're Les Paul Studio hey rockin' Robby? You're 2-headed monster will be jealous.:(

Oh, this is a 50's Tribute with the fat neck, not a Studio...

The double neck is an awesome guitar. The only reason it doesn't get more work is because it takes up so much room...
