Track based on Astral Traveller's chord progression

I really liked the mood of the progression so I'm working on a song based on it. It's still a little rough. It needs lyrics. The lead and bass are out of synch at time. I've never played with the phyrigian scale before. It is awesome for setting a dark mood.

You are absolutely correct, the dark overtures are such a great step into the void of music creativity, brings a lot to my mind.
Great job KB loved it..
Cheers

I can't believe I missed this! It sounds fantastic, I love it!

I have a soft spot for anything that emphasizes the minor second interval. Although I wouldn't say it's strictly Phrygian (just cool weird), there is a live version of White Rabbit from 1975, with a very long guitar intro that I think is played by Craig Chaquico. If you listen to that he really makes a point of that minor second and it has a lot of similarities to what you played. It can be found on the t00b.

Liked that. Sounds good. However, if my toe tapping tells me anything.... song’s written in either 3/4 or 6/8. I’ve proven over and over, I struggle with anything written in any derivative three. Took ball room dance lessons. Learned I can’t waltz.

Now the thing is can you Tango....
Oddly. While we were taught several different dance moves. I don’t think tango was one of them. But if it’s in 3. Forget it. Wouldn’t be able to master it.

What was cool with our instructor. He broke from what some would consider main stream ball room dance lessons. We were learning Cha Cha to Santana music. Idea being. We go to a wedding reception. They aren’t playing ball room dance tunes. They’re playing what we listen to on the radio. Teaching us to pick out the beat, then go with the appropriate moves.

It is 6/8. I strggle with that time signature aa well but it seemed to suit the feel. I tried to find a canned drum track that would fit but my timing is off in a few places so the canned drums didn't match up. It's a real pain to edit the midi drum track to match my crappy timing :)

Oh ....... it has a very nice feel to it. I sometimes blame marching band for ruining me on the counting to three thing.

Yes, I had to move the odd beat to line up with the backing track.. :D

Sounded more like 7/8 to me, but it‘s early still.

At a wedding that my wife and I attended several years ago, we were joking about the dreadful music selection. The DJ all of a sudden played something in 6 or 7, and we joked, Tango? So there we were at the edge of the dance floor, embraced like Gomez and Morticia, and we commenced with “Slam Tango.“ Yes, we tried turning the dance floor into a mosh pit, and plowed into everyone we could hit. A few brave souls took us on. Everyone else ran for their lives.

Craig Chaquico is one of my favourite guitar players. I saw Starship in 1983. It was recorded live. One of the best concerts I’ve seen. I was sitting in the side balcony almost hanging right over the stage.
