Ambassador of Strings & Wings
As some of you know I spend much of my time at my summer home at the park. each day I practice 2hours and do some playing and singing for friends there. Well last weekend I was packing up my gear after practice, when two young girls age 11 as I am told, approached me and told me they liked my playing and proceeded to give me $2.25. I told the girls that I really appreciated their thoughtfulness and that I could not take their money, but they insisted I take it. I went inside to tell my Wife. My Wife said you have to give them their money back. So I went for a golf cart ride, when I came back my Wife told me someone knocked on the door faintly she went to the door to find this note and with it another $5.00, the girls said the first money they gave wasn't enough. My Wife told the girls no we can't take your money you might want to have ice cream or something. My wife says to me I have to do something about this. Well the next day I found out where the girls lived knocked on the door nobody there. I wanted to talk to them in private without the children knowing about it. So the next day who do I see on golf cart selling 50/50 tickets was the parents by themselves perfect I said to myself so I flagged them over. I told the story to the parents and they knew all about it. I said I cant accept this money from your girls, they said the girls wanted me to have it, we taught them in life to give thanks to those who do good things. They said they would not take the money back, so what I did was I bought $10.00 worth of 50/50 tickets and put their lot number on them saying it was for the girls if they won for school supplies or whatever they wanted to use it for. They didn't want to do it but I insisted. This was very touching to me, the children's parents are instilling great values in their lives. Here is a copy of the note they left with the money, Love the smiling faces on these Children. Unfortunately they didn't win the draw.
