Tinker’s island...

Well the Hadean is in the queue waiting for parts to arrive

So the SG is getting TLC and will continue tomorrow as a filet and a bottle of Merlot are screaming at me.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I have a set of BK Stormy Monday’s coming for a PRS SE. The DOC guitar workshop is open for business.

Nice shop areas Don, I'm a parts and hardware scavenger too.
My wife quit making fun of it as I have pulled multiple rabbits out of the hat with fixes or fabricated items from the miracle boxes over the years.

My method is to upgrade cheap guitars with better budget line parts, as opposed to premium grade parts, pickups, etc.

Since we touched on budget pickups, I and others have had good experience with the ebay / Reverb seller Guitar Madness.
I have a set of A5 strat pickups that were under $25. I am happy with. They are much better than any cheap strat pickups I had played thus far.
I have not played real Fender or other "good" pickups to compare to though.

Items in guitarmadness store on eBay!

That's a very impressive set of tools you have their, Don.

Back in the days of being a fax engineer when the Snap-on van man came around, I just dreamed of having a garage, an old E-type to restore and:

The top Snap On box in my picture was bought from the Snap On truck guy when I was 18. I was a mechanic working on imported cars and I worked on a few E-type Jags. I still have a blue torched wrench modified to take off the V-12 exhaust manifolds bolts.

Made payments for a few months on it.

Jt, I’m just getting up to speed on this guitar parts thing. I spent years chasing old car parts. So doing the same for guitars parts is a new adventure.
