The 805 HF transmitting triode introduced in 1936, has an anode (plate) that is machined out of solid graphite. The anode is 2 - 3 mm thick & was baked at high temp to remove impurities. Anode dissipation 125 watts. Top cap anode connection (on top of bottle). People have used them in audio amps. Cheers
