The TTR Official Strat Pride Thread

So, based on the latest strat discussions we've had here, it seems that strats are loved or hated (ain't them everywhere?)...

This led me to open this thread so that we can share our endless love or hate for what is the most iconic electric guitar ever conceived (like it or not, haters gonna hate, but it's a fact).

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the Strat Pride Thread.

Now if you please, allow me to begin; no matter how I try to bond with any other guitar, I cannot change the fact that I am a strat cowboy.

The first time I ever stepped on a stage to gig, I was playing a strat, and I was branded for life.

Strats fit me like a Savile Row tailored suit. They are not as comfortable as an SG when it comes to fret access, they are not the lightest guitars, they can have a bithy neck, hard to tame and mount... I'm a small guy, about 5'5" and they even look kinda big on me in pictures (or is it just my imagination? well whatever), but they are still the guitars I feel better with.

To those who don't already know me, I have two and love them a hell of a lot, I play, jam and gig with them both, much more than with my Gibson SG:

Let's begin the debate!

Sergio,

I shall most heartily join in with Strat pride!

Whereas I can't really describe myself as a "Strat Guy" or "Les Paul Guy" or any other type of guitar guy, a Fender Stratocaster is an indispensable piece in my guitar arsenal.

Debate? What debate! They're just great guitars.

I have posted these before, but this seems a great time to post these pics again.

I have to admit that I am a "Les Paul Guy" but I love Strats too. Have had a ton of them over the last 30 years (been playing for 40 but was exclusively a Gibson player for the first decade before I got my first Strat) and although I don't consider them my go-to, I think having at least one is a must for an electric guitar player. Nothing else sounds like them, and therefore when you gotta have that sound nothing else will do. I love the one I have now and kind of want another, haha.

I suppose Ritchie and Rory are what I consider the two most prolific Stratocaster players in my book anyways. I.loved SRV's style, energy and technique, but didn't like hid to be, IMHO.

I played a 1987 Squirecaster from 1988 until 2005, almost exclusively. Good tool with hotter, fuller pickups....again IMHO.

I love many things about many guitars. I only wish all these features existed in one guitar...
