The Sofa Swerved Right Into My Lane, Officer:

Glad you're okay. A lot of drivers would have panicked and lost control of their vehicle.

About 15 years ago, my wife was driving down a two-lane local highway with my youngest daughter in the back seat. Coming from the opposite direction was a little pickup that was carrying a mattress and its boxspring on it's way to the local landfill. The clueless young driver of the pickup did not have the load strapped down. As the two vehicles past each other, the boxspring became airborne and frisbeed itself into our car's windshield towards the passenger side. My wife was able to come to a stop without loosing control of the car. The hood was also damaged. Glass when flying everywhere inside the car, but miraculously nobody got hurt... Hallelujah... :giggle:

Sucks man. Glad it wasn't any worse than fender/bumper damage.... and I'm sure the pre-requisite change of shorts.

I've had one crash that was my fault. I was a stupid 16 year old and drove my 60 Olds into a ditch on a dark winter night..... the year.... 1970. Yes I'm old. And like you, been rear ended twice. Two different cars. Only had one speeding ticket.... 1978. Not that I drive slow.... just drive smart.

Glad your ok Robert! :dood:

Sorry for the damages to your car.

I acknowledge that your bummed out, but I side with, your ok and it could have been way worse.
Strange as it may be, maybe something good can come of it, or has.

Late 70s on the highway a pickup was in front of us with a stove in the back, that darn thing got air born and my Dad swerved and just missed it.
I know what I witnessed left an impression on me to tie my stuff down no matter what.

We all stand by you and look for the silver lining. One is your ok!
