The Rockford Files

I remember it too
Jimmy Rockford.

We have cable, loaded. I like the local channels, need TSN for CFL footy.
The missus needs her stuff too.
We also stream.
We watch a lot of tv.
65" curved screen 4k.
I would never watch on a laptop etc.
Priorities I guess. No RV, no snow mobile, no ATV, no boat...

The ARP 2600 also produced all those iconic synth sounds on the classic Who records like Quadrophenia and Who's Next.

ARP made a less expensive self-contained model called the Odyssey, which was popular with many rock bands in the 70s.
Thanks to a 2-pole filter circuit, it had a reedier sound than Moogs, whose 4-pole filters produced fatter tone.
The Odyssey sounded like The Rockford Files theme most of the time, while the 2600 was more versatile.

A largish laptop is one thing - I don't watch films often on mine, but at least I can get close to it, and quality headphones make it sound good.

The thing I take issue with is people everywhere watching movies on their cellphones.
Either they have bionic eyes or they just don't care much about the visual aspects of films & videos.

Movies and the current Trek series through the stereo on the 65". That's movies, for me.
Cellphones? I don't understand it either the experience is lost.

I can’t do the cell phone video either. Maybe FaceTime. When I finished off the basement in 2021 I instaled 6 Polk Audio, speakers in the walls. Added a center speaker and subwoofer driven by a Dennon 7.1 AV amp. It’s a nice setup with the big screen. After I got it all installed and setup I found out that very few movies or shows are recorded in 7.1 format. Big D’oh moment! The amp does a decent job converting the audio.
