The Most Hated Gibson Guitar Of All Time...

Welcome back Troglodytes including Yo Adrian. This is a video on the most hated Gibson guitar which on this video is a 2011 Gibson Firebird X in blue. Now personally I think the guitar is sort of nice in some ways and a bit unorthodox in other ways. Even though it's not your traditional Gibson guitar with a mahogany neck and rosewood fret board where instead this has an all maple neck. The strange thing is that it only has 23 frets and not 24...why? This guitar was supposed to be a revolution as Henry J. put it out as. All the controls and such seem like a novel idea but there is way to much to think about when operating this guitar which is a bit distracting from actually playing the guitar. You might as well glue a pedal board to the guitar if you ask me. It's like you need a university degree on how to operate this beast. I kind of like my guitars a bit simple...plug & play and there you go. What do you guys & gals think about this guitar innovation?

;>)/

I remember playing one when they were first released. It had great balance and played really well. If you gutted one and wired it up as a regular, passive, axe it could be cool.

I came close to buying a Robot Les Paul:

and that was going to be my plan for it. I just liked the silver/blue burst paint job, haha.

How does that one work...the controls, etc.?

No idea. I was bout to get one from a dealer in the Midwest for a really good price but before I pulled the trigger someone walked into his shop and bought it off the wall.

I got the idea of just gutting it and putting regular electronics in it after seeing a Robot SG in a shop that someone had done just that to. I honestly just thought the combination of the unique paint job and headstock treatment was cool.

Many did the similar "gut it" with 2015 Les Paul Jr.s -- rip off robotuners-- replace circuit boards-----mine is bone stock--- and still sounds and works Amazingly--- I havent even had to RECHARGE the robotuners battery-----they still work every time..........

Most hated Gibson...
That sounds like a dubious honor, but I believe there are several candidates.
How 'bout the Corvus... waka waka waka waka

Or maybe the 1971 Gibson SG 1

oh yea, and don't forget the notorious 2009 Les Paul "Zoot Suit..."
which people seem to have a love/hate relationship with. But I never
see anybody playing one:

A performer would have to give some serious thought to "what should I wear tonight"
when they are going onstage with their Zooter... A clown suit seems appropriate.
