Good news: Got my second covid vaccine today!! The bad news: After many consultations with my Neurologist regarding complications from my botched kidney cancer surgery *memory loss, the inability to walk, a massive stutter AND not being able to play guitar for a while* I have now been diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Ulnar Nerve (your funny bone nerve.) Compression in both my left and right side.

So sometime in May I get to have surgery on each arm ( one at a time.) to repair the problem, each arm will be in a cast from my knuckles up past my elbow. My dad suffered with Carpal Tunnel for years and had the surgery, but it didn't work for him, however, he was almost 80 years old when he had it done.

Hopefully I'll have better results and wont be constantly dropping my pick and feeling like my arms aren't on fire after I play. Fingers crossed. :victoire:

Aw! Darn it! I'm sorry. My dad had the surgery and never had any more problems. Yours is going to go great. You'll be playing before you know it!

Sorry to hear that man. The good news though is if they are doing the hand and elbow tendons, it normally has better results than just the hand alone. My neighbor is 61 and had to do this on both arms as well about 12 years ago, one at a time and he was good within about 4-5 weeks on each arm, but was able to lightly use them within weeks.

The big thing is to carry thru your rehab and work the tendons and ligaments to prevent any atrophy. Lots of folks who get this procedure get lax on the rehab and lose mobility later on. If you continue to lightly work it, you will be back to normal quickly

Damn, man is right.
Hope it goes well and quickly.

More good news is - you are here to tell us about it.
Godspeed on this journey!!
Stay strong, stay positive and know we need you back here as soon as possible posting clips!!
(dont forget Tele clips for @Ramo ;) )
