I don’t know how this will take.
I mentioned in the Friday Night Riffs Thread how there isn’t a thread like that for any other instrument. So here is my attempt to make that happen. I think there are plenty of you who at the very least dabble with the 4 (or 5/6) string big boy.

As some of you know, I just started playing bass again after a 20+ year hiatus.
So I’ll take the plunge and post the first bass line. Take it easy on me. My strumming fingers are rusty.

It’s kinda all over the place. But I liked the wah effect on the bass.

Thanks guys, but I really am nowhere near where I was.
I tried to do The bass line for Peace Sells .... lets just say I did 2 bars and they were god awful!

Yeah, I figured I'd see what kind of traction it would get, plus it would be one spot for bass playing discussions. Just seems like there are a good handful of people here picking up the big 4 banger. I could rename the thread to something else.
I would love to see some drums, but who here plays drums?

Here is my next week of progress with the 5 string.
I am starting to build some finger strength in my strumming hand, now I just need to start controlling the amount of pressure I use.
You can tell in this track that my attack isnt even yet, but at least my hand isnt getting as tired as quickly.

Here it is, the bass riff ..thats right, I said it! I used Bass and Riff in the same sentence ... or fragmented sentence ... awwww who cares, unless you are an english teacher!
