Talented Members

I have surely been learning many things from the Talented Members here on TTR. We have such a wide range of talent ranging from playing skills, building skills and the list goes on in the Musical Realm. But also building skills from Hobbyists from all avenues. And having a more personal attachment that many Forums do not have and could only wish for. This site is not all that old, and I am happy to be one of the guys to basically get in on the ground floor. We see it is growing, hopefully we can continue to be that tight knit group. Cheers to all the Membership!!

I'm glad to hear that you are happy here. It is all of you members that make this place what it is, simple as that. Ray, Adrian and myself started by inviting people that we knew were cool peeps from our interactions with them on other forums. The cool people that we originally invited carried on by inviting other cool people that they knew and this is how we grow... Word of mouth by cool people. No buying existing forums, no paid advertising, just good old fashioned social media of cool people talking to cool people.

Yes, thanks you guys for building and cleaning our sand box.
I saw this recently while on vaca in FLA, and it of course reminded me, well, you know who....

I swear it wasnt at this house, but could have maybe?

Things became confrontational after the shot; I think they were about to kick my arse.
Luckily, the tortoise got hung up as I made my escape.

this is a refuge for me & The 'home" atmosphere makes it welcoming & the sincerity..humor..sharing of knowledge and actual care is simply amazing & appreciated...everywhere else has turned into a competition of some sort or critics...just ripping things apart..even to the point of attacking major artists & bands...yet no one will post clips of their playing to back up the crap..here its ..real...i like how everybody works to keep it that way....life is a fight daily..don't wanna fight on my fav thing in ..music..

I too feel the same as you brother. I found this place because of 2 great members here Chili, and Robert, after I joined, I proceeded to ask others that I knew where cool people to come give it a look.
Many of those same people are now members here, I was not on the ground floor of the start up, but many of you great people have made me feel as if I was.
Cheers to TTR.
Mitch

you where smart in the ones you chose to invite..thanks for the heads up..

It's cool to see the original members doing their thing still and being like a family..but grafting us in...

I've seen and experienced the "drama" on car forums, guitar forums, photography forums, computer geek forums, coding forums, software specific forums and other various forums for over 20 years. I call this forum home not because I built it, but because I consider y'all family. For the past year I've gone through copious dramatics in my real life that are continuing today and do not see an immediate end to them. I find this place to be very comforting in my time of stress as it allows me to escape from my reality for a brief time as I join in here.

Like many of us here, I'm an ETSG import. Joined in 2009 after I bought my G400. Looking to learn about electrics since it was my first electric guitar purchase. Learned lots. Even as a rank newby I made a few contributions of my own. I had recently been laid off. Another statistic of the 2007/08/09, etc recession. Frankly, ETSG helped me keep my sanity as it was a fairly depressing time. Good group of folk there.... at the time. Then it got big. Trolls started hanging out. Picking fights. Got sucked into a couple of those. Still check the place out, but I don't tend to spend much time there or contribute much like I used to.

Fast forward a few years. Wav invited me to check out this new forum. Which I did a couple times, but didn't join up right away. The dude had to badger me a bit..... ok, not really..... but I did get a few reminders from him to join. Obviously, I finally did and I'm happy I did. One thing (of many) I like here is the lack of cork sniffers. Over at the other one, mention G400 and many would look down there nose at you. Not here. Here it seems there's lots of us that brag about our inexpensive guitars...... and everyone goes.... awesome guitar. Photos or it didn't happen.

I also like that we are at a whoopin' 340 some odd members vs over 11,000 at the other one. Be why TTR is more family than an impersonal forum.

And yes.... I am in awe of the talent we have here.

Thanks everyone.

I'm glad to hear that I didn't lie to you when I said that you would like it here! We pretty much understand that it's the hands playing the guitar, not the name on the head stock that makes to tone!

One thing and the most important for me is there is no judgement here. We all respect each other even if we don’t agree. On social media today all I see are arguments and put downs. This forum is a welcome respite from that.
And the few times there's been even slightly snarkey comments.... when that happens, we tend to self police ourselves. Only been a couple times I've seen a admin have to step in and get things back on track. That, frankly, is awesome.

I have said it before and will say it again now, this is by far the best forum I have ever been in.
I have had the privilege to meet several members face to face, and it was nothing short of stellar experiences.

I thank RVA for inviting me here. It has been a GREAT time.

I have many talents! I can hold my breath for 6 minutes until I turn purple. Ok, I have to get recesitated or I'll die. But that counts!
