I can't find LaBella strings in Canada. One place will order them but they come from the USA so it's a month wait. I'll try the Rotosound and see how it goes. Thanks for all the suggestions.
I put some Rotosound Jazz Bass flats on. They have quite a bit more tension so my relief is out and the intonation is off. I'm going to play them a bit before I adjust anything though. Here is a track I re-recorded with the new strings.
Thought I’d update this. I’m loving the flats, both tone and feel. After playing them for a week the neck relief has settled down and is fine. Good thing because the truss rod adjustment is at the heel. The intonation which was way off at first settled down as well. I adjusted the A and D strings today and now it’s perfect. I guess bass strings and necks need a while to reach equilibrium. I’m really glad I didn’t adjust anything right away.
