Spotlight - PRS 408

Another thread made me excited to pull out this baby tonight. 2012 408 with stoptail and mixed hardware (chrome and gold). The mini toggles split the bride to the inner coils only, but when doing so, it activates 1,500 additional turns on that inner coil which prevents discernible volume loss. Patter thin neck. Phase III tuners

Real nice looker. The toggling is an interesting set up....i certainly like the minimal loss of volume attribute.

Have you done your standard neck set up, leveling, on this one?

Thanks! This guitar did not need any work. I have never seen a "core" PRS that needed anything but a setup

Neither have I...but I know you enjoy tinkering, so it got me curious. The silver gold combo is cool. Can't recall seeing that set up before....never noticed anyway.

PRS calls if mixed hardware. It is an upcharge. The original pup rings were cream (pic 1). The black changed the look a lot. That is all the tinkering I could muster !

Yup...black. Good move. It's amazing, but it really did change the complete look. I like both, but black is it.

That's it, I'm going up to jam. I was trying to relax, but I just got bit. lol

Ray, I have my laptop volume up to max and can barely hear these.

The 2nd one sounds like Wish you were here and then some boogie woogie,,,,,,, Not Underture

Really nice but why the mixed hardware ? Just curious.
I fell in love with the grain. Why mixed? Got me but it looks OK.

Story behind this guitar is...I took another PRS in for a wiring mod and they scuffed it (one of 2 times this happened and why I started working on my own guitars). I negotiated a deal to get this guitar for cost as a payback - a win-win for the store and me.
