This is definitely correct, but blues music was among the first styles of music that were recorded and distributed at least semi-widely. Records meant that a lot more people could hear it and be inspired by it. But of course, blues music did not magically spring into existence by itself.Yes, but, really all music is an outgrowth and amalgam of what came before it. The distillation of everything its maker heard and ripped something off from. Including Blues, which as a definable style of music was also the culmination of what came before it. So, to me, its not as though Blues simply sprang forth and then went on to influence rock, and to really understand the common thread you’d have to go much farther back then just the Blues influenced the music we grew up on.
