But...maybe if they had trimmed them back to when they looked like this...

They could have made music as good as they did when they actually looked like this, instead of the terrible pop pablum they made in the '80s.

I don't know what was worse, the music of the '90s or the 2000s. It was all a deep pain. To me Rock was about a party, not a funeral.

Pains me to say this, because through Deguello ZZ Top is one of my all-time favorite bands, but yeah I think this version is better than the original. ZZ was epic early on, but man they lost the plot completely starting at El Loco and comprehensively embarrassed themselves for the rest of the '80s and beyond.

They are old and irrelevant as are most from their time are now but they were awesome and defined a highly contributing sound for the '80s decade. Eliminator was ground breaking in just about every way. It's nice to see some bands were able to practically reinvent themselves as highly successful acts in the early '80s instead folding by continuing to beat a dead burnt out horse.
