If any "older bike" people like this I'll post up from time to time some that I've sold on.
This is a 1964 750cc Norton Atlas.
When I progressively sold off my little collection this was in the final two. I'd decided to only keep one and while the Atlas was more collectible than the one eventually kept I had good reason to keep the other.

These pre-unit construction engines when first designed were 500cc then developed to 600cc then again to 650cc, by the time they were pumped out to the 750cc Atlas they vibrated so much women always wanted a double. True story!

I have wanted a Norton Commando since I was old enough to know what the Hell one was........it just never seems to be in the cards for me....

I rode Triumphs for 20+ years till I was in a wreak and almost lost my left foot. Wife said it was Bikes or her. I knew I had married up so I am still married with no bikes. I still LOVE the older Brit cycles though.

The Atlas in this thread is the generation before the first Commando.
Other than styling the two big changes for the Commando were the loss of Featherbed frame (changed for "Isolastic" frame) and the upright cylinders (changed to forward leaning).
Looks like some interest in this kind of a thread, I'll post my Commando up one day soon.

I have an open mind on bike brands, have owned many different kinds, worked in the industry and raced on the tar when a younger man.
Primarily am a Triumph man and my male friends of 45 years + are also Triumph focused.
