I think SRV used them on stage. Definitely, Warren Haynes uses them on stage. Can anybody confirm if Mick Box of Uriah Heep used them on stage?

I'm just gonna use a regular old VFD instead. Although the VFD is PWM controlled I'm fairly certain.

Find a used 2 speed cheese wheel out of an old organ (ebay prob) and build a cabinet around it. Easiest way but kinda low power.
Look up DIY leslie on youtube to find out what to avoid...like ceiling fan motors.
Make sure you watch this guy's video series on how he built a couple. He knows what he's doing:
