Well I think I mentioned here a while back, I was getting a new instructor, so in May of last year I started with him , really like the guy we hit it off right away. Any way about a week ago we were talking about setups, if my memory does me right, I think it was Leedspool who started the thread. Well last week I went for my lesson and I had mentioned to him I was going to get my guitar setup, he said he's been doing them for years, well I usually take it to another guy I know, but I thought I'm going to leave it with him and give him a try. So I went for my lesson yesterday he had my guitar sitting in the case open for me to try. So sat down looked it all over and man I have to tell you, I was very happy with the work he did on it, he did everything I asked him to do and he knows i'm a fussy person to begin with. He asked me what I thought after playing it etc, I told him it plays great I am very happy with the setup, how much do I owe you, he said $20 that's what I charge for my Students. I gave him the strings, I was blown away to say the least, so now I will be taking my three guitars to him from now on. Next week I will drop off one of my Strats. For that price I can get all three done for $60 once a year.

Well that's good news Blues Session 5...it's important to have all your Godins in tip-top shape. I usually do my own setups which I've been doing since I've been playing guitar now just over 30 years. One time many years ago the neck broke on my Gibson SG Special right around the nut area as usual with Gibsons. I was thinking of fixing it myself but then after I thought I should take it to a professional to have it fixed. He used fibre glass to reinforce the neck and did a fairly good job and now my Gibson feels more sturdy. It took a month and $200 out of my pocket but it was worth it. My SG has a few battle scars but it tells a story. BTW it was done at Long & McQuade.
