seems decent for 249.00

I just don't really see the point unless you are truly a beginner, and even then good deals can be had on used stuff.

I'm done buying guitars...inexpensive or otherwise. The 3 String Cigar Box will be my last. Everything I have now sits in cases or hangs on the wall
save the Taylor and the Blackout Strat! Even when I do pull the others out they don't stay out long...

I will be selling off the bulk of the guitars as soon as I get motivated to list them. The ones on Reverb are languishing...no buyers right now
unless you are giving things away...I'm going to try a bulk listing on Strat Talk.

have to say..i was liberated some in last 2 months..there is only 3 fender amps & my guitars in the main room i put the songs together in. Thinking i have main tone set & just get small recording amps for specific sounds now main tone has been reached after 2 years of binge buying.

I have been a binge and spur of the moment buyer for some time. At one point I had around 30 guitars! Many of the guitars were very high end...just ask around here or look up
my NGD threads. What I discovered was I was becoming a collector and hoarder instead of a player!

I've narrowed my focus to what I really want and need and tried to stop my impulse buying! That is very hard when you are on guitar forums...every time someone here posts
something cool I feel the need to run out and buy one! That impulse is being put in check! I still have 14 or 15 guitars and I want to get that number down to about 5 or 6.

I'm not quite as bad amp wise...I only have 3 tube amps, a solid state amp and my Kemper. Add in the 1x10, 1x12, 2x12 and 4x12 cab and I have more than enough there too!

Good on ya Chris--

My original post here wasnt raelly ---- HEY YA'LL BUY ONE-- - though the SX is looking tasty lol--and I think Ray has "hands on experience" with those.

it was -- HEY these seem decent for the $ if your a beginner -- or need a back axe-- or LIKE the look of a Lester Studio but dont have 980.00 for a new one of those--the 249 version with a good set up (and maybe a pup upgrade) --I say maybe becasue I LIKE Epi pups--
Might be a great option---

I too have several for sale (your right nothing is moving on reverb) ---because -- I learned I play the same 4-5 all the damn time the others are wall candy 25 outta 30 days

its something huh...i love this music hobby & recording & playing out...just caught myself..making more work..with this gear..taking away from playing...trying to ween myself down some with pedals..but darn ..that rabbit hole is only justifiable cause its less money per item..lol....keep thinking the move to FL will help..but wife seems to think more has come in lately than gone out....

I think you and I have learned a lot and been up and down the road too many times! We buy cheap, we buy expensive or trade for it and we end up playing the
same few guitars in the end! I just have to stop collecting wall hangers! I'm realizing I look at many of these as wood art and I can't afford to collect it!

If truth be told the beauty of the wood on many guitars is a huge attraction for me. That's why I try not to even LOOK at Acoustics! Damn there are so many
that just completely blow my mind!

i have a secret about Epi pups...
do tell???????

Yep Chris-- for some time there was an attraction-- to scoring a 25-50.00 "barn find" and bringing it back to glory --- to flipping a 45.00 MIM Fender strat for 300.00 in under 24 hours-----
to rebuilding derelicts and vagabonds ---- the "can I make a 45.00 Ebay strat actually play and sound good" ------can I shoe horn a Gibson P90 into the middle position on a Squire Strat" --- yep----and yep--- are the answers-- -and now that I KNOW I can do all these things----- its less FUN to do all these things! lol

Ah yes...the Pedal Rabbit Hole...and the justifying...they're cheap and also cool looking to collect! No money spent or wasted here...right? This is just the ones I have that I could find on
Sweetwater to see how much I was in for. My collection has a few more...

...only about $2K...and it sits in the bag.

I have a home made KIT explorer--- it coulda had ANY pickups I wanted -- it has a set of Epi 57's :)

Rondo has always offered some amazing deals. By all reports the Agile LP copies are quite good too.

I have a full clip of Les Pauls but I had my eye on Rondo's catseye triple-P90 12-string for awhile.

Also their sitar guitar; I always wanted one of those back in the 70s when you could still get the original Coral ones for next to nothing.

Regarding stock Epi pickups, they seem to have made a change around 2010. Before that, the Alnico Classics were infamously known as mudbuckers. After that, they seemed much better than before. I've never been able to discover whether they changed the specs or they switched to a different manufacturing facility or simply got better winding machines. Whatever the reason, the pickups didn't sound so awful after 2010, even the notorious 14K bridge humbuckers. And the more recent 57s and Probuckers are better than just okay, they seem to sound great.
