NOt SURE ITS BEEN POSTED BUT IT HAS BEEN A DECLINING ENTITY FOR SEVERAL YEARS
Much like hte loss of Radio Shack --- it will be missed-

Yes, Good thing buying K-Mart was like a shot of B12.
I recently see Craftsman product in Lowe's, figured changes were a-comin'.

That's for sure. Sears has been a hollow husk of its former self for at least the last decade. They just were not able to adapt to a changing world of easy online gratification.

Yeah, Craftsman tools are sold in Pep Boys and other locations. They no longer honor the lifetime warranty. I started off with Craftsman tools and later switched to Snap-On when I moved to NoCal and there was no local Sears store. The Sears near me in Pasadena has cut 1/2 of the store away and is leasing to another company. I remember my dad taking me to Sears to buy new clothes and the beginning of the school year. Toys-R-Us is right behind Sears too. I remember lots of independent toys stores that fell in the wake of Toys-R-Us. My wife recently ran into the owner of Toy Town, one of the victims of Toys-R-Us. He was talking about how he had to go out of business because of the toy giant. He had a smile on his face about them going down now too.

Didnt know about the lifetime warranty go bye bye.
The only thing I keep breaking is 1/4" ratchets.
Not abusing them either, they just spit the guts.
3 or 4 times; they had a drawerfull of rebuilt ones.
Last time was probably 8+ years ago.

It's a shame, I liked Sears. That's why I purchased a Stove, microwave, and dishwasher from them in 2009. The fact that It turned into 2 dishwashers, and 3 microwaves due to damage didn't help their survival. They'll be missed.

Big Craftsman fan too...I've had the same tools for decades of abuse.

As for Radio Shack, good riddance. Why they needed my name, address and SSN just to purchase AA batteries is mind boggling.

Sears ....
THese and toughskins got me thropugh my youth!

That link is a cool read.
Weird reading about stuff from the early 1900's or before.
Even weirder reading through the stuff I remember.
Yikes.

I get this a lot:
"bizarre symptoms such as “a dread of some impending evil” "
but thats just before turning on the evening news.

I solved that problem in one easy step: Snap-on

not sure but I bet he has the "MANs TEXTURED VEST! " buwahahahahah
I must confess that I once witnessed @Robert Herndon wearing a slate blue Fifth Season jumpsuit, as pictured below*, back in the 70s. Oh, how I would love to find a gold jumpsuit, but sadly, it was only available in SB, Chamois, and "Spice."
*Stock photo. Any likeness or resemblance to the real Robert is purely coincidental.
