One of the guys I work with was talking about the cancellation a couple days ago. He was going to see the show here in MPLS.

I have flares of tinnitus. Comes and goes on an irregular basis. Does seem to crop up more frequently while I am playing loudly and does make it tough to hear yourself even at loud volume.

Tinnitus never goes away. There's no cure. Anyone claiming that they have a special recipe to help tinnitus sufferers is full of :poo:

When I was a kid, I gave myself a majorly instantaneous case of tinnitus. It seemed to last a few years. I was new to firecrackers and somehow mulling around the basement, I found one my dad must have picked up somewhere that had been lit but left the fuse just about 1/8 inch from igniting the thing.

So, one day while my babysitter was watching us, I took it and went partway down our alley where I sat on the concrete and put it down by my feet and lit it. The noise was so loud, the babysitter came looking for me. My ears rang for years so badly that when I would put my head on my pillow at night, it would keep me awake.

Somehow it got bearable as I aged.

That reminds me. I had tickets to see the band Boston in my hand. Tom Scholz broke his hand. The concert was cancelled. The Brad Delp killed himself, and I never got to see the original lineup.

This reminds me of me being 16 in 1980, and I had just gotten into Led Zep. Pondered the notion of seeing them in concert if I could get a ride of course. We know the rest of that story. Dang, I just realized he was a mere twice as old as me @ 32 when he died.

I have it right now as we speak. Its due to hearing loss . I have in both ears, its not a pleasant thing to have.

When I started to learn drums, I would hear many teachers stress to wear ear protection. At times I played without, I could definitely still hear the cymbals in my ears after I would stop playing. Protection is no joke here.

If I go to a Concert I wear hearing protection, I don't play with loud volumes, if I do I put in my plugs. My hearing loss is mostly from when I worked at the plant, most of my time was without protection until they started coming up with regulations and provided the equipment.
