RIP Tim Bogert

I was first turned on to Cactus when I was sixteen. My girlfriend's oldest brother had their first record. It blew my mind the first time I had heard it. Then I discovered the Vanilla Fudge and Beck, Bogert, and Appice. He was an amazing bassist. I still have my scratchy old copy of the first Cactus record that I had hunted in every used record store in the Boston area for years to get my paws on one. It still has the power of when I first heard them.

RIP Tim Bogert! Helluva bassist and a good singer as well,very unsung hero. He was a key member of a few great bands like Cactus, Vanilla Fudge but my favorite was Beck, Bogert and Appice. Thank you sir for your contribution!

Same here about Cactus. I did not know Tim was a member of Vanilla Fudge also. Nevertheless, Tim Bogert was a major player in bringing in some exciting music in the 60s & 70s. A bass player with an attitude of distortion back then... Who would have thought!!!! R.I.P. Mr "Tim" Bogert
