Rip chuck berry

Man, we're losing all the greats in every genre. BB King, Prince, David Bowie, and now this. How many are left?

Well it's a proven facts that no one gets off this planet alive. It's not that there's an epidemic because so many are from the same era, but we're gonna miss em all the same.
That said, Chuck was a true legend with an elegant and raw spirit blended into him that will never be seen again. He gave us much to behold and remember. His journey is at an end but like so many others his legacy lives on.

Great innovator and song stylist. Huge influence on three generations now. Very hard to work with and very cheap with his sidemen. In the end, the songs are what he'll be remembered for and good on him.

Truly a pioneer that influenced so many.
I grew up listening to covers, then found the originals.
I dont have extensive Chuck in my brain, but I have listened to a greatest hits CD of his sooo many times.
I love a lot of his hits that I do know and earlier had started to listen more as a guitar player.
Always loved that Maybelline - and it always reminds me of Hot Rod Lincoln.

He motivated over the hill.

Thank you Chuck.
Rest in peace my a$$.
You keep right on duck walkin' across that stage.
When you get up there teach all those harp players what you showed us how to do.

I just saw this on Roger Glover's website:

"I have said often enough that the entire edifice that is rock’n’roll is held up by the twin pillars of Little Richard and Chuck Berry. Little Richard for his searing voice and superb band and Chuck for his scattershot lyrics and iconic guitar style. And most importantly, they wrote the songs.

Naturally, I’m saddened by Chuck Berry’s passing. The world turns and heroes are gone. The first album I bought with the first money I earned was Chuck Berry’s first album. Every band on the planet has learned and played his songs. Immortal songs. Living music.
