R.I.P. Peter Fonda...

I still remember seeing "Easy Rider" for the first time a kid. I'm really not a movie guy, but that one struck a chord. The music is one thing (I mean, it is REALLY great), but what I was left with was a feeling of the importance of daring to be different but not get carried away with it, and a desire to stay focused on and honest about what's really good and bad in life. It is such a powerful depiction of how the hippie movement tried but ultimately failed to change things because of their youth, inexperience, conflicts, drugs etc. You really wish they would just ride happily into the sunset in the closing scene, but you just know they can't...

Thanks Peter Fonda, for teaching me something important.
