Damn Pneumococcal Meningitis...basically comes on like Strep Throat and hits the lungs and sometimes the brain sadly. Something so miniscule and forgotten, took down such a massive giant.....and it absolutely sucks.

I got a lot of guitar heroes, tons. But there is a select group of once in a lifetime talents in that list of heroes and Jeff Beck was one of THE rarest of them all. In my opinion, the greatest guitarist for the last 50 years after the passing of the equally legendary Sir James Marshall Hendrix. Guys like that, I couldn't even get started out of the gate trying to copy if I wanted to, giving it everything I had. If I had just 1/1,000,000th of a grain of their talent, I'd die happy

RIP Jeff. :( He was inspiring, and his style evolved so much over the years. Always surprising, never wound up in a rut.
Amazing impact in person - vids are great, but he had something extra that the cameras didn't capture.
Those of us who saw him play live are lucky to have had the experience.
