Well that sucks tremendously. Not a Dumble amp guy but only a fool would say he didnt have an enormous impact on amplifiers and design. Very important name in the business. If his amps were already in the 6 figure range, id say they will soon be near the 7 figure area now that he has passed
It is because of you, Jim Marshall, Gerald Weber, Relic 61, 67 PLexi, DonP, Ivan H , Bastard DOn, Sysco, ampmad and others who have turned my 0 knowledge of electronics and amps, to a serviceable working knowledge to grasp concepts and to diagnose and repair things.
"Fare thee well my bright star,
I watched your taillights blaze into nothingness.
But you were long gone before I ever got to you.
Before you blazed past this address."
Dumble designed and personally made amps for guitarists including Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robben Ford, John Mayer, Eric Johnson, Santana and Kenny Wayne Shepherd
Gone too soon at age 76. Notoriously reclusive, picky about who he built for, and hard to contact, he was nonetheless regarded as a warm & kind person by friends and customers.
