Quick tone comparison

Threw this together tonight. It's not scientific whatsoever.
Just some of my normal - favorite amp settings all through the same T75 and e609 mic.
There's a regular ts style boost in front and a touch of a noise gate pedal. Gibson tribute with a Duncan TB6 bridge.

Tough call…JVM, Engl, Peavey, Egnater…. Just a quick listen….JVM is the most “refined” sounding, either channel showcased….

I bet it has a lot to do with the speakers.
The reason I say that is I have heard that Engl roar.

Gotta listen to this stuff thru headphones rather than cell phone speakers. All sounds the same thru the phone and I know better.

Very similar, all of them. The Engl had a bit more bite IMO.
So you boost all those with a TS up front... they seem like the type of amp that doesn't need it.

The little PV holds up very well.

They don't really need any help with gain, but I like the tone to be tight. The TS has the gain on 0.

You are very wise, sir.
Also the JVM is built to use the T75.

ENGL and Egnater and Peavey 5150/6505cabs are all usually V30s.

Through other speakers the ENGL can truly shine.

That's how I run my ODs too. Especially with a 2 band EQ, really nice to get that set up front.

Here's a little snippet I just made. ENGL with no pedals, and the gain at less than 3.
I'm just always impressed by it, every time I power it up.
