I'm so excited with the parts i am getting from
@jtcnj and
@SG John that i have decided to build an actual, playable guitar.
I have always hated the 'pantomimed' Performances, like Top Of The Pops,' that i am changing directions.
I told the video producer that, even though i will be performing to a backing track (to keep things in synch) i insisted on actually playing along with the backing track, so i will be using my 1984 Jackson 4x12 Motorhead cabinet along with a borrowed JCM800 head, powered by a generator.
This is the fugly GFS pickguard that i have been unable to give away.
Since the yellow plywood body i got from SG-John is routed HSH, i am going to outfit this with some old Jackson pickups i got from Adrian, along with a very basic wire harness.
By using a layer of aluminum foil over the top of the pickguard and along the back of the neck, i can minimize the damage done to the guitar to cosmetic only..
I want to have a believable performance, and playing along to my recording will keep all the hand movements in the correct positions.
The "conjuring" would be save for last, since the strings will be wiped out by the flames.
Im also toying with the idea of running a hose and tube up the back of the guitar and spraying WD-40 through it while the fire is burning, so this massive jet of flames will erupt from the guitar, as if a spirit has emerged from it.
Silly, i suppose....bit i like this sort of thing...
