This appeared on the market for a good price so I called my cousin and asked him if he wanted me to pick it up for his son as a present for his (14th) birthday or Xmas. He was keen and everything works (and it has the footswitch) so I grabbed it for him for $300. I've given it a clean and tested all the functions,

These are one of the last solid state amps that Peavey made in the USA (28 July 2006 written on one of its circuit boards), with 'transtube technology' like a Bandit. It is based on the Triple XXX but has some different features, including a 25W / 50W / 100W switch

It's not as harmonically rich as the JSX or 3120 but it sounds pretty nice, and it's a good low maintenance amp to give to a teenager.

Here's a video on this amp:

Being a Transtube, i actually liked that series, so this would probably be a decent amp to have. Unlike the Marshall Valvestates or Mode Four, which were actual SS power amp/valve preamp hybrids, these were solely solidstate but replicated the 6L6 sound fairly well for what they do. Very reliable too

45 years too late for me...
I wish we had this stuff when I was a kid.
28 years too late for me. But when I was 20 years old I bought my '98 TSL with a 1936 cab. I payed 125.000 pts (750 euros / 905$). I worked really hard to buy It. At this time I was studying and I had 3 jobs. I can't complain. It was more difficult when I was 16 years old and I bought my Ibanez s-540. lol
