Back in 2011, I was using Cool Edit Pro 2.0 and got really good with it.

My Son just brought me my new HP and surround sound, etc, loaded with Audacity, Adobe Audition, something like Appleton, and something with a yellow chili pepper called 'FL.'

I'm using a simple (brand new) Focusrote Scarlett 2i2 second gen USB preamp and mic. It works great with my Blackstar - just line out and you are all set.

Guitar sounds great through the headset....but the guitar playback is super tinny with an almost flanger-like quality.

I got the same anomaly trying different DAW's too. TBTH, I don't find any of thr as easy as Cool Edit Pro.

So, looking for a little guidance. My son is really proficient with Pro-Tools, but I don't need all that for what I'm doing.

Thoughts???

I use a 2i2 with Audition and it is perfect I connect it with USB. A clanging sound would suggest two active paths with a delay is that possible?

I'm puzzled, but will work with it some more later. I make sure the vocal mic is off when running the guitar into the pre amp.

I have all but one thing to get started: time.
A lack of anything worthy of recording will not deter me!
