Ozzy And Jeff Beck????

I really wanted to like this but I couldn't quite manage it.

First impression: the song is kind of generic, and beneath all that processing Ozzy doesn't like himself.
Neither does Jeff, partly because his tone and dynamics are totally swamped in a massive, overly dense mix.

I guess it might grow on me after a second listen. But I won't be hitting Play again, not tonight at least.

I like that it's very commercial and it has a central theme. Beck's guitar work is very outside the box for a song in this genre. I like it super mucho.

Not sure what to make of this........

I gotta admit, I liked this song right sway. I really like the arrangement and part of that credit goes to producer Andrew Watt. TBTH, I really like Jeff Beck's contribution to this effort. The new album contains a lot of guest appearances, including Taylor Hawkins.

Here's producer Andrew Watt jamming on guitar in the studio with Ozzy:

I wanted to cover the song as soon as I heard it. In fact, the drummer and I were calling each other at the same time yesterday to discuss plans for a possible cover. LOL

Naturally, I heard a much heavier version in my head, so I found a backing track online with most of the guitar parts stripped off and I just recorded a little 2:51 clip of how I would want the cover to sound.

We have no plans to "rush" this cover out, because we have a long list of commitments to complete before we can "play" with our own side projects, but this is a song that is definitely "on our radar," so to speak.

You can hear my concept over a backing track here:
