Our last jam at the Chieftain Hotel

The hotel was sold a while ago. The owners are renovating the pub where we have our weekly jam. This was supposed to be our last jam there but then they shut down the pub a week early. The owner of the night club next door, The Knotty Burl, kindly let us use their club for the last jam. Very sad to loose this venue but we have another venue lined up, hopefully starting next week. Here are a couple of pictures of me at the Knotty Burl with my Taylor GS. Mini.

So, the Chieftain will remain the "Chieftain", but will have no more live entertainment?

It might but they say it will be a few months before the pub is ready. The drummer who managed the gig is negotiating with a couple of other bars and the Knotty Burl may be interested. The three guys from the house band get paid and have a bar tab which they share with the regular players.

sounds like a good thing to have offered on say the odd Tuesday night or something when traffic is other wise low-- the jam might bring NEW patrons in.......

AFAIK they got $300 and a $100 bar tab. That is not much but at least they got paid. I really don’t like to support bars that don’t pay the entertainment.
