Well it is just starting to rain here. I have been down to the Smart&Final for bagels, cream cheese and soup. I've got wood and candles if the power goes out and a working radio. Our new worry is the Shasta dam. Inflow is already out stripping outflow and it is 95% full. The Sacramento River is just about a mile and a half away to my West and the Cosumnes and Mokulumne rivers are just a bit South. I was at the confluence of the Sacramento and American Rivers about an hour ago and the adjacent park and picnic area that is often used to setup a stage for bands and for large public gatherings is under about eight feet of water. My neighbor across the street, Billie, built about two feet above the the top of the creek bank behind her property.
If I see water start to creep down her driveway, I know it's time to go. Rain has let up for now, but more to come, I'm sure.
