Open jam, Vancouver, BC, Canada, Feb 19

I'm organizing a jam for online friends from a couple of forums, the Canadian Guitar Forum, and Strat-Talk. I'd like to invite members here as well. I have a studio booked Sunday, Feb 19 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. It will be a very informal jam. All levels of players invited. Particularly looking for drummers. Hope to put some faces to online friends.

There is a drum kit, PA, bass amp, and two 4x12 guitar cabs supplied with the room. Rental gear is available. I will bring a couple of spare guitars and amps you can borrow. Nothing fancy, a Quilter 101R (should be very nice with one of the 4 x12's), an old 100 watt Peavey Bandit, an SG, an Epiphone Dot, a Yamaha LL16M with a LR Baggs DI, a Tokai PBass, three microphones. You are welcome to bring your own gear.

Message me or post here if you have questions. I'll update this thread as we get closer to the date.

That sounds cool as hell.
Will you be recording it with video?
That would be fun to see some clips.
Great idea.

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend, but good luck on getting things organized, and sounds like a great time to be had by all attendees!

Well the jam is done. Seven of us showed up. It was a little crowded. I booked the largest room they had but we got bumped by Trooper so we had to make do with the second largest room. Didn't even get to see anybody from Trooper :( A lot of fun was had. Some of the music was even pretty good. I don't think anyone took any video or recorded anything. Anyway. I'm going to try to make this an annual thing so there is always next year.

A picture of me jamming with an online friend from the Guitars Canada forum. He was trying out my Reverend Airwave 12 string. I was rocking my SG. We were both playing through Quilter amps. If you haven’t tried a Quilter you need to. It will change your mind on solid state amps. His had an 8 inch speaker, mine a 10. We were by far the loudest guitars and easily heard over the drums and a monster 800 watt bass amp through an Ampeg 8x10. Neither of us used pedals and the tone was to die for.
