I decided to bring my bass out of retirement.
I got a Boss RC-3 recently and thought it would be cool to lay bass and guitar onto some loops.
It is the first instrument I made at Music College in the early 90's.
The bass is a 4-string Stingray copy with a Bartolini pickup and active electronics.
I don't own a bass amp (or preamp) at the moment so it will have to go through my VS65R for now on clean (low volume).
I am thinking of getting a Zoom MS-60B for my pedalboard to act as a preamp and effects box in the loop of my pedalboard that bypasses the VS65R preamp.
This may make for an easily setup FX for the bass into some future bass amp.
The bypass loop has just an MT-2 and an NS-2 at the moment and the Zoom would replace the noise gate (the Zoom gate will work for both guitar and bass).

It is the first guitar I made so it isn't perfect. But it plays OK. I tend to prefer a narrower neck nowadays.
The best bass I had was an Ibanez SR500. I rarely used it so it got cashed, in along with a Line6 Lowdown Studio 110, for other 6-string guitars (sellers regret?).
I'm not sure yet if I need a bass amp. I have a DAW setup with the Overloud Mark Studio VST that will do for any semi-serious recording.
Can anyone recommend a cheap but decent small bass amp, just for home use? The Line6 I had would probably have been ideal.

Nice work! That bass looks really cool! I like the maple, it‘s got character.
I wish I had a suggestion for a good small bass amp...but I’ve not really sampled the little stuff too much. I do have a little TCElectrinics BH250 that I move from cab to cab occasionally. It’s OK...but I like a little character, and the TC is pretty neutral and clean.
