Yes, new RIAA preamp day for my turntable!
I am by no means a hi-fi freak, but (like all of us here), I like listening to music. I have always enjoyed vinyl, and lately I have been listening quite a lot to my records. I don’t have a very expensive stereo system, but it sounds pretty decent. However, I have wanted a bit more punch from my record player for some time, and I found a nice upgrade to my old NAD PP 2e in a used Pro-Ject Tune Box S. A guy in Oslo was selling it, and he came to Bergen on business today, so he brought it along (ie. free shipping for me). I just fired it up, and it does exactly what I hoped it would do; a well-defined, deeper and more poweful bass, and a more open treble. And of course, the pair of 12ax7 tubes make it look really cool!
My wife gave me money to buy an upgraded stylus for the turntable for my b-day yesterday, and I’ll probably have it by next weekend. Looking forward to trying it with the new preamp.
