Ninja books it, it’s rented we get the drums, PA, keyboard and bass amp and room for us all to play loud at a distance for $20 an hour for the room. That works out $10 each for 3 hour session

Looks like a blast! Reminded me of learning the “starving musicians” industry back around 1998. Me, 2 other coworkers (guitarist and drummer) found a really good bass player and would practice in the drummer’s living room. Since we were all working professionals, we decided to try out a practice studio, figuring heck, us 4 can afford that! So we find a place about 5 minutes from work in an industrial park. We go over at lunchtime to check em out. When we get there we explained to the guy, we are new at this and could he show us around. They had about 10 or 12 “studios”(rooms) of various sizes and like Leed’s place, each had a bass amp, drums, and a PA.Some had guitar amps.So the guy shows us the first room, saying this is our smallest, about the size of a large bedroom. So we ask “how much?”. He goes $12/hr. I kinda chuckled, figuring it would have been like $50, since heck I didn’t know. So he shows us the next room, about 1 and a half times larger than the first. We ask “how much?”. He goes, $13/hr :rolf: . Now I’m really laughing inside, they only charge $1 more, and thought to,myself, that’s right, this is their clientel, starving musicians. So, we said, show us your largest room. It was about 1 and a half times the size of Leed’s room with a raised stage, and couch seating for about 25 people, it was a really great setup. So, we asked “how much?”. He says, $20/hr. We said we’d like to reserve/rent it for 4 hours every other Saturday for the next 6 months right on the spot.

As noted above, that’s $20 each for 4 hours of jamming, couldn’t beat that with a stick. Nice to see inflation hasn’t taken over and you can get a decent place still for $20/hr!

Yeh we were same is a no brained for the money. And at this time we have the space to be apart safe so it’s great. Makes playing at home all worth the effort when u meet up and jam :)
