Nice Change of Pace

I played a small, acoustic-only set last night.

It was kind of a team-up with some other musicians. My band leader played keys (the only electric instrument). I was one of two acoustic guitar players and there was a cajone. The other acoustic player was pretty good. Sometimes, I played the same voicing as him. Other times, I let him play the open chords and I focused more on "color chords".

It was really enjoyable and a nice change of pace.

I like variety.

Playing on worship band at church. One of my favorite Sundays was an acoustic set. Don’t remember circumstances, but we were down instruments. May have had a drummer. Not much else. So four of us sat on stools and played our acoustic. Felt like CSNY up there. It was awesome.

Cool, I need to pull the acoustic out as it has been a while. I have a binder full of tunes I used to pull out when we had folks over and a fire in the backyard. Need to get that going again.

No kidding. Our of town right now, but will be home in a few days. Got the itch to get my acoustic out and get reacquainted.
