One of the pitfalls of always looking for guitars to buy cheap, fix up and sell for a few bucks more is you occasionally stumble onto one you actually want to buy and keep.
Case in point I noticed one of these the other day and while I was debating if I wanted to buy it or not, someone else bought it. My disappointed reaction was enough to convince me I wanted one. Did some research on them, watched the obligatory number of YT vids and was totally convinced. Just as I came to that realization, this one popped up locally. I messaged the seller, who it turns out is an insanely talented player formerly from a local band called Dark Wing, and we worked a deal. Met up yesterday morning and I brought this lovely home.
He said he hadn't played it in quite some time after upgrading to an EBMM Majesty. And, there was a little neglect going on, but not much. I spent about an hour cleaning it up, oiling the fretboard, etc and it really came to life. Has some sharp fret ends that I'm learning how best to deal with (along with rolling the fretboard edges a bit) but overall I'm in love.
It's a 2017 Misha Mansoor HT7 Juggernaut. The pickups are Jackson's version of Bare Knuckle Juggernauts and while I've never played the Bare Knuckle version, these ones slay. I have a feeling that once I get the fret edges/fingerboard cleaned up, this will be a go to player for some time.
For anyone interested, here's a tone test (also gonna throw the TT in Friday Night Riffs thread..._
