So, wasting no time, better "before" shots:

The finish is good.

EXCEPT the nut, which was horribly cut, but easily replaced

So we begin with a slight leveling with a 9.5" radius block and then a crowning using my new toys...a diamond crowning file with 150 and 300 grit sides and "fret erasers" (400 and 1000 grit) for polishing. I will eventually get some intermediate grit erasers. They work great.

Check out the frets before and after the fret eraser - the after is to the left of the guard

And after a full crown and polish and some Howard's feed and wax

The trem cavity is nice and clean. I was happy and impressed. I must say, Squire's workmanship deserves honorable mention. This was made in Indonesia.

That is for sure. If you are handy, you can take these guitars a long way without too much effort or money.
