I have been tormented for ages by watching Gregor Hilden's videos of various guitars that he demos that are for sale at his shop or guitars that he is using live. One of the common things in all his videos is a Neunaber Wet Reverb. With a Vahlbruch Space Time delay, his sound is always very smooth and using just the right amount of reverb and delay/echo for what he is playing.
This week I finally took the plunge and bought a brand new version 5. I only played with it about an hour last night, and it was a lot of fun. I haven't figured out if it does a big springy surf sound, but it does do a very subtle reverb sound that I really enjoyed. It also has the option of while pressing the switch and rotating the tone knob switching to a long decay sound with very long trails. I really like this because there is one old song of mine that a delay pedal really seemed to be a bit over the top, and the long trail reverb seems to be more of what the song is looking for. So far, I'm having fun with it and I can't wait to spend more time with this learning what it does.
I can see why Gregor likes it. Even though I don't have a Vahlbruch Space Time delay like Gregor's, I think my El Capistan works very well with this.
I really need to buy a real pedalboard one of these days. The homemade one is more cumbersome than it needs to be.
