Just working out the bugs on my first attempt with Atrocity. ...er, um...Audacity....

So, my first venture for the new CD is creating my own cover of Bad Company. While I respect and admire the 5FDP version, I chose an arrangement more faithful to the original.

I'm rehearsing the keyboard section now. I'm using an old Yamaha board with a baby grand emulator.

Now, my concept is a totally recognizable start....but with blindingly heavy guitar, likely even heavier than 5FDP's version, but closer to the original arrangement...more of a melding of the styles???

I am currently in C# and this may change as I progress.

Since my current "band" has only one member, I may also try my hand at drums again. I'm no virtuosic drummer. I can rehearse a part and play it well enough, but 3 months later I couldn't recall what I did!!!

Just thinking outloud...

Well I still use tape, but it's mixed and set with Audacity. And yes, I actually can make it work. Not bad for a guy that predates the Korean War and shoots uppity computers!:coffee:
I think you're gonna do fine with that program. Looking forward to the unveiling of your work. Always enjoyed that tune.:)

Thanks, Man...you know, there are just some tunes that we remember from our youth and this is one of them....I want to see how far I can push it and still remain faithful to the original arrangement.

I'm pulling everything back...just drums and keys. The guitar will remain silent until the chorus....

Audacity is a fantastic beginners program. Even an idiot like me can use it.
I used it to split into tracks an MP3 that was ripped from a vinyl 33 1/3 record as one track.
Then I was able to use iTunes to add it to my iPod...
